A brief about my Life story that has propelled me on a path to healing.
For as many years as I can remember, I felt intermittent bouts of depression, anxiety, I was post traumatic stemming from an unstable chaotic childhood. filled with uncertainty, neglect, unpredictability, Born from that conditioning became deeply rooted "Samskara's" a Sanskrit word which basically means individual impressions, ideas which make up our conditioning. For me, the result was a perceived loss of self causing symptoms of depression and all that goes with that. We all have traveled through life with Samskaras that present in a multitude of ways. The good news is these impressions can be healed. I found liberation of the attachments to the old ancient limited beliefs and stories which kept me bound to negative emotions. So very grateful for the wisdom within me as each of us already has residing there but we have simply forgotten who we truly are! 100 percent whole being.
The short story, in 2013, I began a personal practice of Yoga to alleviate anxiety, stress, and depression and to gain body strength. I had it that place that woke me up and came to know that something big had to change. With my yoga practice I felt the nourishing effects on my sense of well being from deep within. A relief from chronic states of depression, anxiety slowly came to me.
I felt encouraged to deepen my practice by pursuing a Yoga teacher certification in 2017.
I trained in an Ashtanga-based school through the teachings of Ally Ford from Tampa, Florida. That practice was far from easy and was quite challenging to my body, and still, I experienced incredible knowledge and personal benefits. Since then, I’ve grown my practice by leaning into a conscious gentle, contemplative Asana practice with Yoga of the Mind, meditation, back to the origins of Yoga, many thousiands of years ago. This has taken me to places of spiritual gifts and self realization.
I discovered Yoga Nidra. This deep relaxation and rejuvenation is known as Yogic Sleep. My teacher and friend, Marcia Sample, was my guide in introducing me to this practice. I learned from her to lead Yoga Nidra to students. I went deeper in study with my teacher, Kaya Mandlin.
February 2021, I completed the Chopra Center Primordial Sound Meditation Instructor Certification.
I am fascinated by all I have learned and continue learning through these practices. The benefits of learning who I am, what I want, what my purpose is in this world, and all that I'm grateful for cradles me in a daily dedicated personal practice. The type of meditation I am trained and certified in is known as
Primordial Sound Meditation, more than 5,000 years old practice revived by Dr. Deepak Chopra and the late Dr. David Simon, Co-Founders of the Chopra Center. The practice itself is very simple and available to anyone, with numerous positive benefits for your body, mind, and spirit. I am eager to share this practice with those who desire to realize their infinite potential, create a more joyful, love-filled, harmonious life, and truly embrace all of life and that which exists inside you waiting to awaken.
I followed with another certification, Ayurveda Health and Total Well-being Coach. Next came another 200 hour Yoga Certification with Chopra, based on Raja Yoga, the Royal path.
As Jesus taught "Be IN the world and not OF the world".
Dr. Deepak Chopra, my mentor has a beautiful vision to positively impact the planet by reaching the critical mass of our worldly population. He says this " If we want a more peaceful, just, sustainable, and happier world, it begins with each of us choosing to heal and transform ourselves. The key as Mahatma Gandhi taught, is to become the change we wish to see in the world."
Take moments for yourself to BE. Just BE. Sit with nature as you are one with all this miracle of creation, and you are a unique miracle.
